VÅGA in collaboration with Red Bull athlete Tom Evans

A project 10 months in the making

Ten months ago, an idea took root. What if we could create something built to endure the unforgiving demands of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc? From the very beginning, Tom Evans was central to the process. Together, we explored ideas, tested prototypes, and refined designs. His insight, experience, and attention to detail guided the project, ensuring it was ready for the world’s toughest stage.

What emerged was a collaboration between VÅGA and Red Bull athlete Tom Evans. It was never just about product. It was about vision, trust, and creating something that could stand up to the ultimate test, with the potential to inspire what comes next.

What it takes to win the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc

On the evening of the 30th of August, 2,492 athletes left the centre of Chamonix and set out into the night. Ahead of them: 173km of trail, 10,000m of ascent, and conditions that would prove brutal even by Alpine standards.

Tom’s history with UTMB is already rich. A former champion on the CCC. A podium in 2022. Two DNFs. He arrived this year with experience on his side and little left to prove, but with an ambition that burned as strongly as ever.

The 2025 UTMB demanded more than physical strength. Blizzard conditions, soaked terrain, and last-minute route changes meant that runners had to adapt as much as endure. Tom set the tone from the start, taking a commanding position early and holding his nerve through the long night. As the race unfolded, he showed not only resilience but control, steadily extending his lead and proving that he could endure what most would consider unendurable.

This is what it takes to win the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.

Tom Evans, your 2025 UTMB Champion

By the time he returned to Chamonix, the outcome was clear. Tom Evans crossed the finish line with arms raised, becoming the 2025 UTMB Champion.

It was a defining moment for British trail running, and for us at VÅGA, a moment of pride. To see an athlete we had worked so closely with reach the very top of the sport, and to have played a role in that journey, is something we will always carry with us.

Tom’s win in motion

Tom’s victory will go down as one of the great UTMB performances. For him, it marks another milestone in an extraordinary career. For us, it reinforces why we do what we do: to dare, to venture, to risk.

Our collaboration with Red Bull athlete Tom Evans was never about building a product line. It was a shared vision and the chance to support an athlete on the biggest stage in the world of trail running.

Congratulations again, Tom. Here’s to what comes next.

With thanks to Sam Hill and Aleksandra Janiak for capturing the journey in stills and in motion, helping to tell the story of an unforgettable week in Chamonix.
